Synopsis

John Dahl secured his reputation as one of the hottest directors of the 1990s with this cool-as-ice, wantonly playful, bitter-and-twisted excursion into neon-shaded contemporary film noir. At its commanding centre is sizzling and smouldering Linda Fiorentino in a star-making role as the man-eating femme fatale from hell. As gorgeous go-getter Bridget Gregory, she swaps dirty talk for dirty deeds when she cons husband Bill Pullman into doing a big drug deal, only to run off with the money. Hiding out in a small town, the manipulative mantrap changes identity, gets a new job and seduces besotted insurance agent Peter Berg into carrying out her every whim. Then she sets him up as the pawn in a daring game of double-cross. This sassy and superior suspense thriller is a must-see - pulp fiction rarely comes as well appointed or as absorbingly clever.
