Synopsis
This lovingly made fantasy, based on R.A. Dick's novel of the same name, centers on a lonely widow (Gene Tierney) who refuses to be scared away when the ghost of a salty sea captain (Rex Harrison) unexpectedly turns up in her cottage. When her debts mount, he helps her write a successful novel about his life, but she's ultimately forced to choose between her love for his spirit and a flesh-and-blood man.
