Synopsis

Buck Burnett (James Caan) leads six of his friends on a long horseback journey from Texas to Tennessee to join the Confederate Army at the dawn of the Civil War. Their spirit of adventure is soon dimmed by the brutal realities of war. Director William Hale's film presents a fairly accurate version of events surrounding the Battle of Shiloh. Other future stars in the cast include Michael Sarrazin, Harrison Ford and Jan-Michael Vincent.
