Synopsis

In this nearly dialogue-free film that was nominated for a Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival, a scruffy young artist returns to Strasbourg, France, to search for a beautiful woman he met there six years earlier. Auteur José Luis Guerín uses a visual pastiche of the city and the would-be lovers to heighten romantic tension as the camera follows the man from hotel room to café and onto the streets of the city in pursuit of his beloved.
