Synopsis

Rhonda Fleming was no stranger to spirited tough-girl roles, and here she plays a part-Cheyenne Indian with money-making ambitions in the fur trade who wields a bullwhip to get her way. When she requires a spouse in order to inherit property, she makes a deal with condemned cowboy Guy Madison - he will not be executed for another man's crime if he marries her and never sees her again. But Madison's curiosity is roused and he follows her home. Loosely based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, this unusual American B-western was written by genre veteran Adele Buffington and directed by Harmon Jones. The over-the-top comedy elements are a little hard to take, but it's decently acted and photographed in attractive Technicolor in the autumn by John J Martin.
