Synopsis

This is the sixth film called Stranger in Town since Erle C Kenton made the first back in 1932 and, in each case, the title rather speaks for itself. Even experienced actor/director Stuart Margolin has few new twists up his sleeve in this TV movie, in which a small boy begins to suspect that his mother's lodger is not all he seems. Margolin might have made more of city slickers Harry Hamlin and Rebecca Jenkins's struggle to acclimatise to small-town life, but instead focuses too much on the relationship between Graham Greene and young Trevor Blumas. This is workmanlike, but short on originality.
