Synopsis

Nargis (Meena Kumari) was born and raised in a brothel and grows up to be a beautiful concubine known as Sahibjaan. When Prince Salim (Raaj Kumar) falls under Sahibjaan's spell and eventually asks her to marry him, her life takes an unexpected turn. Sahibjaan believes she may have found true love and happiness at last, but her seemingly good fortune proves short-lived as her new husband struggles to come to terms with her sordid past.
