Synopsis
German expatriate Robert Siodmak (The Killers) directed this well-rounded portrait of a conflicted and fascinating personality, Gen. George Armstrong Custer (Robert Shaw). The story traces Custer's military career, including a dubious assignment to secretly drive out the Cheyenne from the American West. Back in Washington, Custer testifies against the military's corruption, which eventually leads to his disastrous last stand at Little Big Horn.
