Synopsis
This observation of industrial evolution chronicles the changes confronting a group of British railroad workers when the government decides to privatize the country's rail lines. Writer Rob Dawber (a former railway signals operator) weaves a story line illustrating the effects of a shifting global economy on workers in all industries. Directed by master of social realism Ken Loach, the film stirs viewers' social and political consciences.
