Synopsis
Nostalgic rites-of-passage story about of a group of teenagers in a small Texas town whose cinema is about to close down. Through the experiences of two close friends - one a high-school hero, the other a sensitive loner - the trials of life, love and loss are tellingly evoked. Based on the novel by Larry McMurtry. A sequel, Texasville, followed in 1990. Oscar winner for Best Supporting Actor and Actress.
