Synopsis
After the beautiful but troublemaking Carmen Jones (Dorothy Dandridge) sets her sights on military pilot-in-training Joe (Harry Belafonte), he leaves his girl, deserts the Army and ultimately kills a man, prompting the couple to flee from justice. But soon, the tragic events they've set in motion come full circle. Otto Preminger directs this Golden Globe-winning adaptation of the stage musical, which in turn is based on Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen."
