Synopsis

12 Years a Slave (2013) box art Drama based on the memoir of Solomon Northup, who was kidnapped in 19th-century New York and sold into slavery. Solomon, a carpenter and dedicated family man, sees his world suddenly turned upside down when he is taken away from his wife and children and forced to work in the south of the United States. Stripped of his identity and his dignity, he faces a daily struggle just to stay alive in a horrifying and unforgiving environment.
