Synopsis

Deprived of the big-name talents who voiced the original, this cartoon feature suffers from the same problem that beset the sequels to Disney's Aladdin and The Lion King. Although the animation is serviceable, insufficient attention has been paid either to the plot or the comic relief, with the result that genuine wit and excitement are replaced merely by volume and pace. Younger viewers will probably still enjoy the third-rate pop songs that accompany Derek, Odette and their animal friends as they seek to prevent the evil Clavius from taking control of the all-powerful Black Arts.
