Synopsis
Pursued by flinty lawman Dana Stribling (Rock Hudson), philosophical fugitive outlaw Brendan O'Malley (Kirk Douglas) drops in on old flame Belle (Dorothy Malone). O'Malley finds her married to a drunken rancher (Joseph Cotten), who hires him to lead a cattle drive to Texas. A dark cat-and-mouse game ensues in this complex Western drama, an underrated gem penned by acclaimed screenwriter Dalton Trumbo.
