Synopsis

This massively popular success pairs Bing Crosby with beautiful Casablanca star Ingrid Bergman. Crosby reprises the role that won him a coveted Oscar, that of wise and lovable Father O'Malley from Going My Way. Today, Crosby's priest seems rather insufferable as he helps Sister Ingrid fix up her run-down mission with a bit of song and a lot of charm. Crosby fans will brook no arguments, of course, but others may feel director Leo McCarey has his tongue well and truly in his cheek and only made this for the money. Still, it may work for you, and Bergman looks wonderful in a wimple.
