Synopsis
Having portrayed sinister siblings in Brian De Palma's mischievous thriller Raising Cain, John Lithgow plays brothers again in this well-meaning if somewhat strained TV movie that seeks to expose the folly of demonising Aids. Lithgow earned an Emmy nomination for his dual performance as a small-town teacher who discovers that he's HIV positive and the twin brother who challenges an insurance company in the courts over a life-saving bone marrow transplant. Lithgow's performance is matched by those of Ellen Burstyn, Veronica Cartwright and Annette O'Toole, as the bourgeois neighbours who overcome their prejudices to give the brothers their wholehearted support.
